This page is under construction while we collect photos and research our history.  We will post photos and documents here as they become available.  We plan to share all our research with the Town of Carver Library and their Carver Room.  A number of photographs have already been turned over to the Carver Room for preservation.  If you have any documents, pictures, or articles of interest pertaining to the history of the Carver Police Department, please contact Chief Michael Miksch at 508-866-2000 or email at mmiksch@carverpolice.org

Chief James Erville Vaughan  September 1908

Chief James Erville Vaughan of the Carver Police Department was killed in September of 1908 while attempting to make a warrant arrest.  Officer Arthur Atwood was also injured during this incident.  This information was brought to the attention of the current members of the Carver Police Department by an article in The Enterprise Newspaper in October of 2008.  After researching Chief James Erville Vaughan's death, it was determined that he died from wounds received while attempting to make a warrant arrest.  Chief Vaughan's name was added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC on May 15, 2009.  Chief Vaughan will be added to the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Memorial in Boston, MA on September 24,2010.
